  • The Government of India has reduced the agri-cess for Crude Palm Oil from 7.5% to 5%. This will be helpful to domestic edible oil refiners and consumers.
  • The Government of India has put a ban on 54 apps of Chinese origin because of security concerns. Some of the apps include Free Fire, Tencent, Alibaba and NetEase, and many more.
  • ‘eInvest’ app: It was launched by Edelweiss Asset Management. It is basically a mutual fund investing mobile application. It will help people to perform all financial transactions. It is having an Insta Money feature which is the mutual fund savings account and allows an instant withdrawal facility to the registered bank account.
  • The SEBI has taken the decision for separation of the roles of chairperson and MD/CEO as ‘voluntary’ against ‘mandatory’ earlier. The committee was set up under the guidance of Uday Kotak with a view to seeking recommendations to further enhance corporate governance norms for listed companies.

  • India will be holding G20 Presidency from 1st Dec 2022 to 30th Nov 2023 and in this regard, the 18th edition of the G20 Summit will be held in India in 2023. Therefore, the country is in the process of setting up a G20 Secretariat and its reporting structures. The G20 Secretariat will be guided by an Apex Committee headed by Prime Minister and the other member include Finance Minister (Nirmala Sitharaman), Home Minister (Amit Shah), External Affairs Minister (S. Jaishankar), and G20 Sherpa (Piyush Goyal).
  • The Standard Chartered Bank India has launched 'interest-only home loan' facility. It was launched for completed residential properties in which the borrowers will have to pay only interest without principal deduction in a limited period. The facility is available for the loan amount between Rs 35 lakh to Rs 3.5 crores with max tenure of 30 years for salary people and 25 years for self-employed people.
