- Andaman and Nicobar (A&N) Islands got India’s 1st Swachh Sujal Pradesh certification. It is an initiative of the Jal Shakti Ministry under which it provides certification for ODF Plus status, Safe and secure drinking water supply, and Awareness about cleanliness and convergence of schemes.
- Typhoon Nanmadol hit Kagoshima city situated on the western coast of Japan, killing at least two and causing transport disruptions across the city. The winds with a high velocity brought heavy rains to the area.
- The Minister of Ports, Shipping & Waterways (MoPSW), Sarbananda Sonowal, inaugurated the Bogibeel Riverfront Passenger Jetty near Dibrugarh in Assam. It has been developed by the Northeast Frontier Railways (NFR) as part of Riverfront Development near the road and rail, Bogibeel Bridge.
