Current Affairs One-Liner: 6th November 2020

• Union Cabinet approved a proposal for investing Rs 1810 crore for 210 MW of Luhri Stage I Hydro Power Project. The cabinet committee for same was chaired by PM Narendra Modi. This hydropower project will be constructed on River Sutlej and will be generating 758.2 million units of electricity annually. MoU for the same project was signed by Himachal Pradesh Government and Sutlej Jal Vidyut Nigam Limited. 
• The First Committee of the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA) or Disarmament and International Security Committee adopted 2 India sponsored resolution based on nuclear disarmament. These resolutions aim to reduce the risk of nuclear accidents and aims to have a prohibition on the use of nuclear weapons. The two resolutions are: (1) ‘Convention on Prohibition of the Use of Nuclear Weapons’. (2) ‘Reducing Nuclear Danger’. 

• TRIFED (Tribal Cooperative Marketing Development Federation of India Limited) signed an agreement with JD Centre of Arts (JDCA) to perform social-cultural research work, an anthropological study of tribal arts and tradition in tribal community-based regions of India. Both the organisations will also work together to preserve arts, crafts and traditions of tribal communities.
• MoU between India and the United Kingdom was approved by Union Cabinet chaired by PM Narendra Modi in the field of medical product regulation. The MoU agreement was signed between United Kingdom Medicines and Healthcare Products Regulatory Agency and Central Drugs Standard Control Organization (CDSCO) of India.
• 8th meet of India –UAE on High-Level Joint Task Force on Investments: The meet was held virtually and India’s side was represented by Union Minister Piyush Goyal.
