- ‘Xcelerator Bengaluru' Initiative: The CM of Karnataka, BS Yediyurappa launched this initiative to enhance the growth of women entrepreneurs in the state. Under this initiative, 50,000 women entrepreneurs will be supported for the next three years to grow their businesses. The initiative is jointly developed by the UBUNTU Consortium of Women Entrepreneurs’ Associations, Global Alliance for Mass Entrepreneurship (GAME) and Federation of Karnataka Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FKCCI).

- ‘Shyena’: It is an Advanced Light Torpedo (TAL), whose trials were successfully completed from Indian Navy’s Ilyushin Il-38 patrol aircraft. The TAL Shyena is an indigenously developed anti-submarine torpedo system by Naval Science and Technological Laboratory (NSTL), lab of DRDO.

- India's third Scorpene-class submarine named INS Karanj was commissioned into the Indian Navy. The submarine is a part of six Scorpene-class submarines, built under Project-75 by Mazagon Dock Limited in Mumbai.
