  • ‘KAZIND-21’: It is the Joint Training Exercise between India and Kazakhstan which will be held from 30th Aug to 11th Sep 2021at Training Node, Aisha Bibi, Kazakhstan. This will be the 5th edition of the exercise and will enhance the relations between armies of both nations.

  • India-ISA Energy Transition Dialogue 2021: It was held in a virtual manner and was organized by International Solar Alliance (ISA) in partnership with the Ministry of New and Renewable Energy. At the dialogue, R K Singh, Minister for New and Renewable Energy mentioned that India has reduced emissions to about 28% from 2005 levels against the target of 35% by 2030 in India’s moto in Paris Agreement of 2015. Currently, India has 38.5% of installed power generation capacity which is from clean renewable energy resources. India has also set the target to have 450 GW of Renewable Energy capacity by 2030.

  • The world’s largest and tallest observation wheel will soon be unveiled in Dubai, UAE. The observation wheel is named ‘Ain Dubai’ and is located at Bluewaters Island. It is 250 m (820 ft) in height and it is 42.5 m (139 ft) taller than the current world’s tallest observation wheel, High Roller, in Las Vegas, measuring 167.6 m (550 ft).

  • The RBI has extended the scope of tokenization of card transactions to consumer devices. The consumer devices like laptops, desktops, wearables, and Internet of Things (IoT) devices are included in this extension. Initially, in 2019, RBI had allowed authorized card payment networks to offer card tokenization services to any token requestor through mobile phones and tablets, but now it has extended the scope to other consumer devices. This extension in the scope will make the card transactions more safe, secure, and convenient for the users.

  • The US Trade and Development Agency (USTDA) and US-India Strategic Partnership Forum (USISPF) jointly launched the US-India Climate Technologies Action Group (CTAG). The US-India CTAG will bring stakeholders from the private and public sectors together of both nations to contribute to advance the global action on climate. The US-India CTAG will help to frame climate-resilient technologies and enhance development in the clean energy areas and make capital for implementing climate-smart infra projects.
