- Defence
- India successfully test-fired the indigenously developed laser-guided anti-tank guided missile (ATGM) at Ahmednagar in Maharashtra. The ATGM was test fired from Main Battle Tank(MBT) Arjun by the Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO) and the Indian Army at KK ranges with the support of the Armoured Corps Centre and School (ACC&S).
- Five women officers of the Indian Naval Air Squadron 314 (INAS 314) based at Naval Air Enclave, Porbandar in Gujarat created history by completing the first all-women independent maritime reconnaissance and surveillance mission over the north Arabian Sea onboard a Dornier 228 aircraft.
- Science
- South Korea launched its first spacecraft to the moon, to arrive in December. The satellite was launched by SpaceX. This mission of USD 180 million is South Korea's first step in lunar exploration and features a boxy, solar-powered satellite designed to skim 100km above the lunar surface.
- Reports
- Life Insurance Corporation (LIC) with a revenue of USD 97.26 billion and a profit of USD 553.8 billion was ranked 98th on Fortune 500 list. The list was topped by US retailer Walmart. Reliance Industries is ranked 104th on the list. Nine Indian companies have entered the list(Five of them are state-owned and four from the private sector).
- Indian Oil Corporation (IOC) jumped 28 places to rank 142nd. Oil and Natural Gas Corporation (ONGC) is ranked 190th. State Bank of India(SBI) climbed 17 places to rank 236th and Bharat Petroleum Ltd at 295th. Tata motors are ranked at 370 and Tata Steel at 435th spot. Rajesh Exports is ranked in the 437th spot.
- Appointment
- Indian Foreign Service (IFS) Officer Shweta Singh was appointed as a Director in Prime Minister's Office (PMO). She is a 2008 batch IFS officer. The Appointments Committee of the Cabinet (ACC) approved Shewta Singh's appointment for a period of three years.
- Vodafone Idea names Ravinder Takkar as the new managing director (MD) and chief executive officer (CEO) of telecom operator Vodafone Idea Limited (Vi), will replace Himanshu Kapania as the telco's new chairman from 19 August.
- Nalin Negi has been appointed as the new chief financial officer (CFO) of Fintech startup BharatPe. Earlier he was the CFO of credit card issuer SBI Card.
- Sports
- International Cricket Council(ICC) announced England's Johnny Bairstow, Sri Lanka's Prabath Jayasuriya and France's Gustav McKeon from the men's cricket team and England's Nat Sciver and Emma Lamb, and India's Renuka Singh from the Women's cricket team as the nominees for July edition of 'Player of the Month awards.
- India's para powerlifter Sudhir won the gold medal in the men's heavyweight final at Commonwealth Games 2022. He lifted 208 kg on the first attempt and 212kg on his second attempt. Ikechukwu Christian Obichukwu won the silver medal and Micky Yule won the bronze medal.
- India's Murali Sreeshankar wins the silver medal in the men's long jump in Commonwealth Games 2022. He won the silver medal with a distance of 8.08m in the men's long jump. Murali Sreeshankar becomes the first Indian to win a silver medal in the men's long jump event. Laquan Nairn of Bahamas won the gold medal.

- The Indian Oil Corporation Limited (IOCL) signed an MoU with the Bangladesh Roads and Highways department in Dhaka for the emergency supply of petroleum goods via Bangladesh territory to India.

- 106-year-old Astronomical Observatory at Langat Singh College in Muzaffarpur, Bihar enters the UNESCO list of Important Endangered Heritage Observatories of the world.
- The world's largest floating solar power plant is going to be built in Madhya Pradesh's Khandwa. It will generate 600 Megawatt power by 2022-23. The project is estimated to be worth over Rs. 3000 crores.
- The National Health Authority (NHA) has joined hands with the Quality Council of India (QCI) for six months to accredit and rate the Health Management Information System (HMIS) and Laboratory Information Management System (LMIS) solutions that have been integrated with the Ayushman Bharat Digital Mission (ABDM).

- Uttarakhand Tourism Department to develop 'Modi Circuit' at Corbett Tiger Reserve. 'Modi Circuit' will cover the places visited by Prime Minister Narendra Modi while shooting for a Television program called "Man Vs Wild" hosted by Bear Grylls on the Discovery channel in 2019.

- RBI governor Shaktikanda Das-led monetary policy committee hiked the policy repo rate for the third time. RBI has slashed the repo rate in March 2020 with an aim to overcome the impact of covid-induced lockdown and maintained the benchmark interest rate for two years before increasing it on May 4,2022. RBI has retained the CPI inflation forecast for FY23 at 6.7%.
