    • Pralay Mondal was appointed as the Managing Director and the Chief Executive Officer of CSB Bank Limited. Mondal’s tenure will be 3 years.
    • Thomas M Devasia was appointed as a member of the Insurance Regulatory and Development Authority of India (IRDAI) by the Government of India.
  • Awards:
    • The Union Minister of Science and Technology, Dr. Jitendra Singh, presented 60 Start-Ups with INSPIRE Award. The annual INSPIRE Awards – MANAK (Million Minds Augmenting National Aspiration and Knowledge) competition attracted 6.53 lakh ideas and innovations from India.
    • Indian scientist and industrialist, Dr. Swati Piramal was conferred the Chevalier de la Legion d’Honneur or Knight of the Legion of Honour. It is France’s highest civilian honor. She got this honor for her contributions in the fields of science, business and industry, medicine, and strengthening Indo-French ties.
  • Sports:
    • Bengaluru Football Club (FC) won the Durand Cup by defeating Mumbai City FC 2-1 in the finals at Kolkata, West Bengal.
    • World Youth Chess Championship: Pranav Anand (Under-16) and A. R. Ilamparthi (Under-14) of India won titles in their respective age group at the World Youth Chess Championship that was organized in Romania.
    • World Wrestling Championships: India’s Bajrang Punia won the bronze medal in the men’s 65 kg category at the WWC which happened in Belgrade, Serbia.
