  • The Union Minister of Education and Skill Development & Entrepreneurship, Dharmendra Pradhan inaugurated the 13th FICCI Global Skills Summit 2022 in New Delhi. The theme of the 13th FICCI Global Skills Summit 2022 was, “Education to Employability - Making It Happen”.
  • Ministry of Culture organized the celebration of the Bathukamma festival at Kartavyapath, India Gate, New Delhi. Bathukamma Festival is a yearly 9-day celebration in Telangana that overlaps with the festival of Navratri.
  • PM Narendra Modi attended the State Funeral of former Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe at the Nippon Budokan, Tokyo. Abe was assassinated on July 08, 2022, while attending a political event.
  • The Indian Navy’s P8I Long Range Maritime Patrol Aircraft participated in the Multinational Maritime Exercise Kakadu 2022 hosted by Royal Australian Navy. The exercise also witnessed the participation of INS Satpura.
  • The President of India, Droupadi Murmu, unveiled the foundation stone for the Indian Council for Medical Research- National Institute of Virology (NIV) in Bengaluru, Karnataka.
  • The Assam government decided to use a Bangalore-based start-up machine, SAANS in the state-run hospitals across the state. It is an air pressure machine that can provide lifesaving breathing support to infants.

  • Appointments:
    • The Government of India appointed K. Vasuki as the Labour Commissioner. Vasuki is the 2008-batch IAS officer.
    • Bandaru Wilsonbabu was appointed as India’s next ambassador to the Republic of Madagascar. Wilsonbabu is the 2004-batch IFS officer.
  • Awards:
    • To mark World Tourism Day 2022, Vice President of India, Jagdeep Dhankhar presented the National Tourism Awards. Achievements of the industry in 2018-19 were highlighted and a total of 81 awards were given.

    • Every year September 28 is observed as World Rabies Day around the world. It is observed to pay tribute to Louis Pasteur, who invented the first vaccine against rabies. The theme of World Rabies Day 2022 is, “Rabies: One Health, Zero Deaths.”
    • Every year September 28 is observed as International Day for Universal Access to Information around the world. It is an initiative of UNESCO. The theme of International Day for Universal Access to Information 2022 is, “Artificial Intelligence, e-Governance, and Access to Information”
  • Obituary:
    • Religious leader and former Telangana State Urdu Academy Chairman Mohammed Rahimuddin Ansari passed away at the age of 70.
  • Sports:
    • Tokyo Olympics bronze medallist Lovlina Borgohain will miss the upcoming National Games in Gujarat due to a minor nose injury.
    • The Cricket Association of Bengal (CAB) has decided to name a stand at the Eden Gardens after Indian women-speedster, Jhulan Goswami.
    • Italy defeated Hungary 2-0 to advance to the Nations League’s finals round. Giacomo Raspadori and Federico Dimarco scored the goals.
